The Kirkland Concours d'Elegance

This was the first of a new wave of concours that aimed to bring the world of ultra-high end car shows from the private jet/yacht realm of Pebble Beach to people of every walk of life all while raising millions of dollars for charity.

With research it was found that all shows used the same recipe around their branding, either featuring a particular classic car or an iconic part like a hood ornament. I proposed and got approved by the board, a vastly different approach focusing on the experience instead of the machine. Harkening back to the classic days of auto sports, I developed a mascot in motion, with the focus on the emotional icons such as the gloves, goggles and wind swept scarf.

Tour d'Elegance

With success came plans to extend the week’s festivities and expand. The Tour d’Elegance brought select invitees with their classic automobiles on a driving tour of the Pacific Northwest. I developed a logo that focused on the driver/navigator relationship along with a focus on movement vs the more leisurely static arrive and show concours.
